Cost of Buying a Text Link

In the early posts of this blog, we have explored the basics on where and how to buy text links and from whom one should get links from in the first place. One aspect of the transaction we have not covered, however, is how much one should pay for text links. Essentially, after all, it really does come down to how much something costs in a decision-making process. This is true for every purchasing choice made by a person on a budget.

You may find the perfect partner to deal with. He or she may have a blog or site that has a high page rank, reliable traffic, a similar topic, and a good linking spot on their home page. But what happens if this person demands an unreasonable amount? What is, for that matter, an unreasonable amount to pay?

The truth is that there is no easy answer to that question. Definitions of how much a site or blog’s link value is at varies from person to person. The easiest, and most reliable, way to tell if you are getting a fair deal is to look at other offers and get an idea for the market value of similarly positioned blogs or sites. This forum, that has been linked to before, has many, many link sales offers. Calculate what the average asking price for a PR4 or a PR5 blog is and don’t pay any more than that amount for your PR4 or PR5 link. If you get an offer to buy for less than market value, great!

Remember that no text link guarantees high traffic. You may think a particular site or blog is worth twice the market value, but is it going to bring you more visitors than two different text links would? And how many text links can you afford if you waste extra money on one link? Make sure you don’t hurt your overall plan by overspending on a single link. Get an idea of the market value and stick to it. It’ll pay off in the long run.
