Essential Questions to Ask Sellers

Now that we have gone over the basics over how to buy text links and why they are needed, its time to address an equally important issue. As with any business transaction, you should always make sure that you get your money’s worth in the end. Text link sellers are usually looking to make as much money as possible using their domain and will be looking to try and shortchange you.

There is, however, an easy way to circumvent this problem, and that is to do your homework. One way a seller can take advantage of you is to only display the link on one page of their site. You should, for the most part, only pay for links that are displayed on the main page of a site, if not every page. Make sure to ask the seller what his or her policy is where links are displayed and back out of deals that don’t sound good.

And never feel bad about checking out the seller’s blog and its info. Does he or she say its a sports-related blog? Check and make sure that a) the topic is indeed sports and b) the posts are full of actual content and not spam-filled filth that no one wants to read. Make sure you pay for sites that have good content that others, like you, would want to read and check over and over again. Remember that once you pay someone for a text link, he or she does not have to guarentee any sort of traffic.

Also check the PageRank and other information that can be readily found on the internet yourself. Don’t take the site owner’s word for it when he or she says his domain has a PR 2 rating. Find a free PageRank checker and verify the information for yourself.

The bottom-line here is that you should never take anything for granted. Money is not something that should be given away carelessly; do your homework and you’ll be better off because of it.
